Greetings Gorgeous! I'm Dutchess Grandy, Head Mistress at Parlor City Burlesque Company. Parlor City Burlesque Company was founded in Binghamton, NY in August of 2021 and has exploded onto the burlesque scene.

Our mission at Parlor City Burlesque Company is to provide audiences with a provocative and imaginative form of artistic expression, while fostering an inclusive and empowering environment for performers. We strive to challenge societal norms and promote body positivity through the exploration of humor, sensuality and sexuality. Our shows are a celebration of freedom, creativity, and diversity, with a commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment that engages all senses and leaves our audience wanting more.

My vision is to use this company to empower individuals to express themselves freely and confidently through the art of burlesque. I aspire to help create a world where this art form is celebrated and our performers receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work and creativity. My goal is to produce performances that captivate and enthral our audiences, while also educating them on the immense value and diversity of the burlesque community.

Burlesque has had a significant impact on pop culture, both in terms of its historical influence and its continued popularity in entertainment today. From the waning days of vaudeville to the current resurgence in feminist variety shows, burlesque has always been a source of groundbreaking creative expression – and iconoclastic rebellion. With its indomitable spirit, unwavering zest for life and irreverent sense of humor, burlesque has helped to re-shape what it means to be a performer, constructing new boundaries that tweak and fuse our attitudes about sex, truth and art. In its mutation and versatility over the years, its message looms ever timeless: that we should free our minds from whatever regressive norms imposed against us and celebrate our individuality without care for judgment.

New York State of Burlesque

I'm proud to announce that dedicated our online platform to the burlesque industry in New York State, with the intention to provide a space for performers, producers, and alike to connect and collaborate. Our platform will serve as a hub for all things burlesque in our home state and will feature interviews with performers about the culture of burlesque, highlights on venues, photographers and the lifestyles of local burlesque stars.

One key feature will be highlighting performers and producers, with profiles that showcase their experience, specialties, and contact information. Additionally, our platform will offer promotional opportunities for performers and producers, such as features interviews, special stories, and shoutouts on the homepage or social media.

Our platforms (and our performances) are inclusive and welcoming to all performers, regardless of their race, gender, sexual preferences, or body type. We are actively seeking out diverse performers and producers to feature, promoting body positivity and self-expression, and championing the values of consent and community within the local burlesque industry. Overall, Parlor City Burlesque Company's platform is dedicated to the burlesque industry in New York State and we believe it will be a powerful way to showcase the unique and vibrant talent that exists in this community, while also fostering connection and collaboration with our audiences and future performers.
